Opportunity Grant
Program Overview
The Opportunity Grant helps low-income adults train for high-wage, high-demand careers. Before continuing, please verify that the program you are interested or enrolled in is listed below in the "Qualifying Degrees & Certificates" section.
If you are enrolled in a qualifying degree or certificate and want to see if you are eligible for the Opportunity Grant at Wenatchee Valley College, please fill out our Interest Survey and one of our staff members will contact you.
To be eligible for the Opportunity Grant you must:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) and demonstrate unmet financial need
- Be a Washington state resident
- Maintain a 2.0 grade point average
- Be enrolled in a qualifying degree or certificate program (see list of qualifying programs below)
- Have an annual household income at or below the following (200% of federal poverty level)
- For a 1 person household $31,300 ($2,608.33 monthly)
- For a 2 person household $42,300 ($3,525.00 monthly)
- For a 3 person household $53,300 ($4,441.67 monthly)
- For a 4 person household $64,300 ($5,358.33 monthly)
- For a 5 person household $75,300 ($6,275.00 monthly)
- For a 6 person household $86,300 ($7,191.67 monthly)
- For a 7 person household $97,300 ($8,108.33 monthly)
- For an 8 person household $108,300 ($9,025.00 monthly)
- For each household member above 8, add $11,000 to the annual income limit.
*These income guidelines are current as of March 11th, 2025.
- Funding for up to 45 credits of tuition and fees.
- Additional funding for required books, tools, and supplies.
- Assistance with navigating college processes and services.
- Help with locating additional funding for training.
- Referrals to other agencies, programs, and community resources.
