Summer Quarter

Summer Hours:
Monday-Thursday    8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Fridays    8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The 2022-2023 financial aid year includes FOUR (4) quarters, with  Summer 2023 as the last quarter of the financial aid year.

Summer quarter financial aid requires students to complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA and a separate WVC Summer Worksheet that will be available once registration for summer quarter begins (May 2023).  You must complete page 1 of the worksheet, attach a copy of your summer quarter schedule and submit it to our office for processing.

Visit our 2022-2023 Forms page for more information and to download the summer worksheet.

Summer 2023 Tuition Due Date is usually mid-June.    If your Summer aid has not been processed by the required tuition due date, you will need to pay your tuition on your own. You may apply for a payment plan with the cashiers office.

Eligibility Requirements for Summer Financial Aid

In order to be eligible for summer financial aid you must be earning a degree or qualified certificate from Wenatchee Valley College. Visiting students (students pursuing a degree elsewhere and attending WVC for the Summer quarter only) are not eligible for financial aid.

You must have a 2022-2023 Financial Aid application (FAFSA/WASFA) on file in our office, with the file review process complete. Additionally, you must complete and submit the Summer Aid Worksheet (see Summer Forms below), which is available in May, 2023 on the day Summer registration begins.

You must be in good academic standing per the Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress Policy

Additional eligibility requirements may apply. Click on the link below titled "Available Funding" for information on different types of funding eligibility requirements.

Types of Financial Aid Available for Summer Quarter:

Grants

Financial aid grants for summer are limited to the following:

  • Pell Grant: Pell Grant funding is available in the summer, for eligible students,  subject to remaining annual and lifetime limits. Pell Grant can now be fully funded year round, up to 150% of the annual amount for eligible students.  This allows for Pell funding in the summer for most students, even if you went full-time prior quarters. PLEASE NOTE: You must be enrolled in at least 6 credits to receive any amount beyond 100% of your annual base award amount.  If you attended other schools in the current year, it may have an impact on your annual/lifetime award.  If you have already reached your annual (150%) or lifetime limit, you will not be eligible for Summer Pell Grant.

  • WVC Grant: Summer WVC Grant aid will be available. Awarding of WVC Grant will be subject to eligibility and/or funding limitations.

  • College Bound Scholarship (CBS) & Washington College Grant (WCG): College Bound Scholarship recipients may receive a combination of CBS and WCG funds during summer.
Loans

The Federal Stafford Loan Programs, subsidized and unsubsidized, are available.  In addition to the WVC 2022-2023 Federal Direct Student Loan Worksheet, you must have a 2022-2023 FAFSA on file in our office, with the file review process complete.  Note: If you had a loan during spring quarter, you do not need to submit a new loan worksheet for summer. Just submit a loan adjustment form and we will review your eligibility**.

Lifetime, Annual and quarterly maximums apply.  Summer quarter 2023 is considered the last quarter of the 2022-2023 school year. Any loan amount you request for summer will count against your annual loan limit for the 2022-2023 year. If you have already received your annual limit for 2022-2023, you will not be eligible for any summer loans.

Workstudy

Limited funds. Please visit our 2022-2023 Forms page for more information and to download the summer work study forms. These forms are usually available late May/early June.

When will Summer Financial Aid be available?

Disbursements are made during the first week of the quarter, if there are any remaining funds after your tuition & fees have been paid and you have no outstanding debts to WVC, including parking tickets, library fines & other charges.

Disbursement of your remaining financial aid funds (after your tuition & fees have been paid) will be made through BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc. Please make sure you have chosen your refund preference. Visit the WVC financial aid website for additional BankMobile Disbursements information.

Payment of Tuition and Fees:

Scenario A:  If your summer financial aid (including loans) has been processed prior to the tuition due date and your financial aid will cover the full cost of your tuition, the financial aid funds will be applied to your account and any remaining funds will be disbursed through BankMobile Disbursements, according to your refund selection preference.

Scenario B:  If your summer financial aid (including loans) has been processed prior to the tuition due date and your financial aid will cover only part of your tuition, then you must pay the balance on or before the first day of class. If you do not pay the balance, you might be removed from your classes, or be sent to collections for payment.

Scenario C:  If you have applied for financial aid (including loans) but have not been granted funding, you must pay your tuition by the tuition due date or if registering after the tuition due date, you must pay within 24 hours of registration. You can apply for a payment plan with the cashier office. Once financial aid has been processed, and if you are eligible for financial aid, the funds will be disbursed as follows:  1) applied to any tuition & fees balance still owing on your WVC account and 2) remaining funds will be disbursed to you through BankMobile Disbursements, according to your refund selection preference.
