Free Application for Federal Student Aid

Students can submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the Internet at studentaid.gov. The FASFA collects financial data and other information that is used to calculate the Student Aid Index (SAI) that ultimately determines a student's eligibility for financial aid.

The key to obtaining financial aid is to apply early. Students should apply at least three months prior to the time they expect to enter school. Late applicants may begin the process at anytime. However, financial aid will not be awarded until you have been accepted to the college.

If students prefer to fill out a paper FAFSA it is available to download on the studentaid.gov website and it includes instructions on how to complete and submit the form.

Fill the form out completely and submit it to the federal processor. Applicants may continue to file the FAFSA throughout the academic year for remaining available funds.

Students must reapply for financial aid each year by updating their information on the "FAFSA on the Web" website. If you are applying for student loans, you need to submit a loan worksheet each year as well.
