BSN degree options
There are two bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree options at Wenatchee Valley College. BSN degrees are becoming an industry standard, and nurses with a BSN from WVC are uniquely prepared to accelerate in their careers.
RN to BSN: 80% Online
This is a hybrid program designed for the working professional. 80% of teaching is online. The program is available through the Wenatchee and Omak campuses.
The RN to BSN adds a fourth year of courses for those students who have already graduated with their associate degree in nursing (ADN). The ADN includes one year of prerequisites and two years of required nursing courses. The goal of the program is to provide opportunities for area nurses to finish their last year of education and get the bachelor’s degree that is becoming an industry standard.
LPN to BSN: 70% Online
This program is 70% online through the WVC at Omak campus in Omak, Washington. Two
blocks of clinical experiences will give you the opportunity to work, learn and play
in beautiful Okanogan County at the same time!
The LPN to BSN track is offered in a hybrid format with a combination of traditional on-campus and online courses. The LPN to BSN students will develop and expand their knowledge, skills, and abilities guided by six student-centered program learning outcomes that reflect professional standards and are necessary for success as a professional nurse in today's complex healthcare environment.
Wenatchee Valley College has scheduled an on-site evaluation of the baccalaureate degree program in nursing by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The CCNE site visitors will be on campus from February 1-3rd, 2023. In accordance with the CCNE procedures for accreditation, the Commission provides the opportunity for program constituents and CCNE constituencies to submit, in writing, third-party comments concerning a program’s qualifications for accreditation status. The program must notify its constituents, including at a minimum, faculty teaching in and students enrolled in the program under review, that an accreditation review is scheduled. Written third-party comments will be received by CCNE until 21 days before the scheduled on-site evaluation. Third-party comments must be received at the CCNE offices by January 11, 2023. Comments should be directed to thirdpartycomments@ccneaccreditation.org. All third-party comments submitted to CCNE must be written in English, consistent with CCNE's policy on Conduct of Business in English.
Please note that CCNE shares third-party comments with the evaluation team prior to the evaluation, but at no time during the review process are these comments shared with the program, the Accreditation Review Committee, or the Board of Commissioners. During its review of the program, the evaluation team considers third-party comments, if any, that relate to the accreditation standards.
