How are transfer credits evaluated?

If you have transfer credits, it is recommended that you have your credits evaluated by requesting a Credit Evaluation (PDF).  You can also use the Equivalency Chart (PDF) as a guide.

The program starts every spring quarter and takes 2 years to complete. The Radiologic Technology application will be available in the fall, starting September 1st and will close November 6th. 

To be eligible for admission consideration, the applicant must: 

  • Have a current Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) application on file. 
  • Currently enrolled students do not need to reapply, students that have not attended for one or more quarters will need to update their information. 
  • Students that are new to WVC can apply here. 
  • Be 18 years old by the 2nd year of the program (before entering clinicals). 
  • Have completed all prerequisites with a C (2.5) or higher. 
  • Send official transcripts from every college you have attended (excluding WVC) directly to WVC. Do not submit official transcripts with the application. 

How are applications evaluated? 
The WVC Radiologic Technology program uses a point system (77 total points) when selecting and evaluating applications for admission. Applicants with more points are more likely to be selected for the program. The categories and their associated points are listed below. 

  • Grades - 32 possible points 
  • 8-hour Observation in an imaging department - 10 possible points 
  • RADT Attend Information Session and Quiz - 5 possible points
  • Admission Essay - 10 possible points 
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation - 15 possible points
  • Interview - 5 possible points

What do I need to complete if I am accepted? 
All applicants will be notified via email at the beginning of January for interview scheduling. Applicants will receive acceptance letters by the end of January. If you are accepted to the Radiologic Technology program, you must complete all the immunization and other requirements found here on this page (PDF) as well as all items listed in the acceptance packet. You should also be prepared to pay a $50, non-refundable, acceptance fee. 

Additionally, all students accepted to the Radiologic Technology program must plan to attend orientation in March. Tentatively Planned for the first Friday in March.

Where can I find information about scheduling an observation? 

All applicants are required to schedule an observation in a diagnostic imaging department and submit the observation form with their application. More information can be found here on the Observation Scheduling and forms. 

Where can I find information about the required essay and letters of recommendation? 

All applicants are required to submit an essay and three letters of recommendation. More information can be found here on the Essay and Letters of Recommendation Instructions page. 

Where can I find information about the Radiologic Technology Information Session? 

 All applicants must attend a virtual Radiologic Technology Information Session and submit their completed information session quiz (Forms) as proof of attendance. Click on the Information Session in the side bar. 

What else should I know before applying to the Radiologic Technology program? 

  • Acceptance to WVC does not guarantee acceptance to the Radiologic Technology program. 
  • If you leave the Radiologic Technology program for any reason, contact the WVC Radiologic Technology Program Director to discuss your re-entry options at (509) 682-6672 or email at ctompkins@wvc.edu  
  • On-the-job physical & stamina requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, carry 15-20 pounds, stand or walk throughout the workday (8 to 10 hours).  
  • Conviction of certain crimes may prevent completion of the clinical requirements of the program and may prevent future licensure and employment in health care.  A criminal record check is required prior to any clinical training experience or clinical field trips.
