How are transfer credits evaluated?
If you have transfer credits, it is recommended that you have your credits evaluated
by requesting an official Credit Evaluation (PDF). You can also use the Equivalency Chart (PDF) as a guide.
When are applications accepted?
The program starts every fall quarter and takes 2 years to complete. Applications are accepted in June every year. For 2024, the application will be available starting June 1 and will close June 23.

To be eligible for admission consideration, the applicant must:
- Have a current Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) application on file.
- Currently enrolled students do not need to reapply, students that have not attended for one or more quarters will need to update their information.
- Students that are new to WVC can apply here.
- Be 18 years old by the first day of the program.
- Have completed all prerequisites with a C (2.0) or higher.
- Send official transcripts from every college you have attended (excluding WVC) directly
to WVC. Do not submit official transcripts with the application.
- Unofficial transcripts can be sent with the application if needed.
- Proof of successful completion of a nursing assistant training course or current Washington state NA-C License. Submit with your application.
- Admission testing: Achieve the required minimum subject score for the Test of Essential
Academic Skills (TEAS) published by Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI). Submit
with your application.
- The score report does not need to be official, but it does need to show the applicant's
name and scores for all sections.

The WVC Nursing program uses a point system when selecting and evaluating applications for admission. Applicants with more points are more likely to be selected for the program. The categories and their associated points are listed below.

- TEAS Score - 10 possible points
- Grades - 10 possible points
- Healthcare work experience - 10 possible points
- Military history - 5 possible points
- WVC credits - 5 possible points
- International experience - 5 possible points
- Bachelor's degree - 5 possible points

What if I am already a LPN?
LPNs who want to become RNs should start by requesting an official Credit Evaluation (PDF). Once your credits are evaluated, you will work with the WVC Director of Nursing to determine your next steps. We would also recommend that you check out our LPN to BSN program.

What do I need to complete if I am accepted?
All applicants will be notified about a month after applying. If you are accepted to the nursing program, you must complete all the requirements detailed on this page (PDF) as well as all items listed in the acceptance packet. You should also be prepared to pay a $50, non-refundable, acceptance fee.

Additionally, all students accepted to the Nursing program must plan to attend the
orientations.
- Fall 2024 Nursing student orientation August 2, 8am-5pm (Wenatchee campus, in person)
- Simulation Lab Orientation Wenatchee: September 4, Omak: September 6 (This will be an in person orientation on the campus you will be attending)
What else should I know before applying to the Nursing program?
- Acceptance to WVC does not guarantee acceptance to the Nursing program.
- If you leave the Nursing program for any reason, contact the WVC Director of Nursing to discuss your re-entry options at (509) 682-6662.
- On-the-job physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds, carry 20 pounds, sit for 4 hours, and stand for 8-12 hours.
- Conviction of certain crimes may prevent completion of the clinical requirements of
the program and may prevent future licensure and employment in health care. A criminal
record check is required prior to any clinical training experience or clinical field
trips. If you have a criminal record, meet with the WVC Director of Nursing to determine
if your criminal history would prevent access to a health care facility. Please call
