Teacher Instructions

Hello CTE Teachers! We are excited to partner with you to offer your course for CTE dual credit. Below you will find information that is important to know for each academic year.

Please be aware of deadlines. You can view important dates on our CTE Annual Calendar.

If you are a brand new teacher you will need to:

  1. Complete a CTE Course Evaluation Packet. This packet is required for all teachers hoping to offer their course for WVC credit. This packet allows for our faculty members to review your content and ensure that it meets the rigor and competencies of an on campus course. You can find a copy of the course assessment rubric faculty will use here. If approved, the articulation is good for three (3) academic years. A comprehensive guide on how to request articulation using this packet can be downloaded here
  2. Complete a Teacher Verification Form. The teacher verification form is something you will need to complete every year that you plan on offering the course. This lets us know that you are planning on offering it so we can set it as active in our system. The form is also the document affirming that a teacher will adhere to the competencies and requirements in the articulation agreement.
  3. If approved, you will need to have all your students register using our online Student Registration form. CTE staff are happy to come to your classroom and assist with this process if needed.
  4. The Concurrent Enrollment Director will email a roster of registered students to your CTE director every semester. Your responsibility is to ensure all students who should have registered are on that list and use the spreadsheet to enter in grades. You or your director can email the final grade sheet to us and we will work with the Transcript Evaluators to transcribe these credits. Only students who receive a B or higher will receive college credit for the class.

You can access and view the different competencies we currently articulate in the Competency Lists tab of this website. Don't see a class on there that you were hoping to offer? Reach out to CTEdualcredit@wvc.edu and we can let you know if this is something WVC is open to articulating.

If you are a continuing CTE teacher:

  1. Remember: Your articulation is good for 3 academic years. You can check the status of your course on the Dual Credit Lookup tool. If your course has since expired, you will need to complete a CTE Course Evaluation Packet for review by WVC's faculty members. Processes have recently changed, if you have any questions, please reach out to ctedualcredit@wvc.edu.
